In 38 years as a professional tiler, Rick Watson’s job has taken him to some unexpected places. ‘I worked on the bathrooms for the bungalows around the pool at the US Embassy in Canberra, ’he recalls. ‘That was right after September 11th. When I was on the premises, a security guy had to with me every second. If he wasn’t there, I could have been shot by a sniper!’
